Egypt_ Hurghada and Cairo
In and around Egypt
In 2004 I and Ingo decided to leave our Job in the Open Channel and the snow for a few weeks and escape to the heat, which was for us...Egypt.
The advertisement looked really nice but arriving there I found out that its not as it looks like, actually the days were middle warm and the nights cold!
Anyway the tourists lay freezing in swimming clothes on the beach, the tour guides jumped into our driving taxi on the street, just to get kicked out by the taxi driver, which didnt prevent them from jumping in again, the kids ran to ingo in order to touch his blond hair and ran giggling back into their group again.
On our trip to cairo we decided to stay in the Hilton...just until the ATM ate my visa card, what left us back with a few dinar in the middle of the night in Ca<iro. Instaed of the Hilton we ended up in a place called carlton, but that was just a name. Ingo stayed in his room with full clother awake all night, heard discman and tried to prevent the cockroaches from attacking him, while I decided to turn off the light as fast as possible in order not to see the room more closely. On the next day we visited Mc donalds, the pyramides and drove through the endless half-ready suburbs of Cairo. In the night we could afford the cheapest bus back to hurghada, filled with only men, one transvestite and TV screening loud egyptian love movies all the way. This was a very good invention to prevent us from freezing in the cold desert night, as the doors of the bus did not shut. back in hurghada I met a film company and started filming tourist events with them, the most funny of it a Christmas evening in a hotel with egyptian bellydancers.
