Woodward Reservoir Campground

We stayed 2 nights after the disapointment of Mc Henry Boat Camp and to see family and friends. We had been there 10 years before and the campground and park was really nice.

This time, there was signs to stay out of the water. Don't allow the water to even touch you. The hook up water, had to be boiled for 5 minutes to be able to use. So we just hooked up to the electric and sewer.

There was many people camping there, that looked homeless. Which should have given us a clue what to expect.

The first night was alright. But a camper, quite a distance away, came and knocked at our door. Said his boy, age 9 could see our TV from the campfire and he did not think the show we were watching was suited for him. It had some car crashes and such, so we closed the door and blinds for him, on that side of the trailer. The only blinds open looked at the lake, so we waited for the ducks to come up and say their babies also were watching the TV and did not think they should see the show (Ha Ha).

 The next day, we went to family and friends in town at Ripton, for the day. We filled up the tank in our truck before coming back to the campground. We got back to the campground around sunset. Watched TV and went to bed about 10 pm. The next morning, we got up and went outside, we had been ROBBED! They took our chain saw and case with many items inside. The new Webber B B Q grill, many boxes of Pepsis, and 1/4 of our gas in our tank. I guess they did not like the taste of the gas. They had open and threw our Capri Punch all over and drank, threw it all over. They did not take the tank of popane for the grill.  What a mess they made on the drivers side of the truck!

We had called the Ranger and they called the cops. We were told, afterward, that this happened all the time durning the summer. We suggested they put up signs about high crime in this campground.

We will never go back there again!!
