Will use this first entry to give a brief overview of what I have planned so far.

Depart Carlow next (Bank Holiday) Monday 29th October for Naploli (via Gatwick).

Then I'll spend just under 3 weeks inter-railing around Italy taking in Napoli, Pompeii, Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan.

Then on November 17th I fly from Milan to Mumbai, flight AZ770. In India I hope to take in Mumbai, Goa, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi & New Dehli. "Sticky" will be joining me in India for about 3 weeks.

Then on December 17th I fly from New Dehli to Beijing, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 604. (Hopefully it stays up!!!) Will meet Podge Oliver in Beijing, who now lives & works there for the EU. Will then travel down the east coast of China taking in Shandong, Yangzhou, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangzhou & Hong Kong.

Then on January 13th 2008 I fly from Hong Kong to Sydney, where I meet up with half of Carlow - Ken & Deirdre, Paddy Moran, Brian Pearson. Will drop in to see Aunty Dee also. Will travel up the east coast of Australia at some stage, inland to Ayers Rock, west to Perth to see the cousins. Apart from that its a pretty open book.

Getting nervous and excited now. All I have left to do is pack really! My next entry will more than likely be from an Internet café in Italy somewhere!!
