Hawaii 2007 - a Return to Paradise

Michael spent this summer working on Kauai.  I knew I'd definitely want to come out and visit for two weeks!!!

We spent the first week in our all time favorite destination - the Big Island... Specifically Kona.  We booked a day of diving as well as the nighttime Manta Ray dive and planned on doing two days of shore diving.  Hurricane Flossie was approaching the island and had our plans change - but only slightly.  Turned out to be nothing more than an exercise for the Hawaiian Civil Defense.  In addition to the hurricane they had an earthquake in Hilo early in the week (we never felt it) and a tsunami advisory due to the earthquake in Peru.  Nothing short of exciting as far as "natural" events!

The second week we'd be back on Kauai.  With Michael working we had to pack all our activities into the weekend and then I spent the week playing tourist in the morning and becoming one with a palm tree in the afternoon.  Afterall, Michael became one with many palm trees on weekends throughout the summer, I had some serious catching up to do!
