Round the World in 90 Days
In and around World
Invited to the wedding of Clare Evans to Andrew Rayner on 30th December 2006 inspired us to plan this megatrip. We asked Ginny at TravelCounsellors, Cambridge to help us get organised and she has come up with an itinerary that includes almost all the places we wanted for the trip. We have had to include Fiji on the Pacific leg as our first choice of Moorea ( where Ed spent a few interesting weeks) was not includable on the ticket that otherwise worked best for us - but hey! how could you choose anyway?
So, leaving on Christmas Eve, we will eat Christmas dinner in Cape Town, travel to Constantia for the wedding, drive the Garden Route, stay 3 nights on the Kariega Game Reserve, fly to Australia where we do the region just north of Perth by car, the forest and the reef at Cairns, stay with Jill and David in Sydney. The next 3 weeks will be spent with Pauline and Tony in NZ where they will show us the wonders of their adopted country. Then its Fiji for a well earned rest (!) and on to LA and Miami, another car drive to Naples to visit Tommy and Nikki, before we fly to Quito and on to the Galapagos for a cruise of the islands. Our final destination is Anguilla Great House where we will again enjoy the sun and the sea in preparation for our return to the chilly march winds in England. The full itinerary will be posted for you to follow should you care to.
As I write this we have 6 weeks left to get properly organised and decide how much luggage to pack! Not a problem for Peter as a pair of shorts and 2 T shirts would keep him going for most of the trip. I like an occasional change of clothes and its nice to dress up occasionally - and not always in the same best dress!
