Thanks for the speedy response. I guess my only worry is that they wont believe us when we say that we haven't been in any endemic areas- especially at US customs!!Thanks for your advice. Have a great weekend. Nathan.

Hi Nathan, Thanks! I got a yellow fever shot because i was going to the amazon, but the only time i was asked to show my card was upon returning to Australia - and i'd still be sitting at the airport if i hadn't been able to show it! If you don't need it, don't get it :-) Cheers M.

Hi there, great blog!! My partner and I are heading over to South America in about 5 weeks and are travelling pretty much the same area's as you. We got our shots the other day which was heaps of fun!! We left a bit confused though ,as the travel doctor advised that we didn't need to get a yellow fever shot as we are not going to the amazon or any "official"endmic area's. Did you get the yellow fever shots? Were you ever asked to show your yellow card when travelling across borders etc.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are heding over to the U.S.A & U.K afterwards so we are just a bit worried about whether they will let us in or not. Afterall how do they know whether we have been to an infected area or not? Cheers, Nathan.
