In October 2005, my dear friend Mac (whom was working in Toledo) came up with the brilliant idea of meeting in Portugal in December for a 3 week odyssey around the country. So within a 24 hour whirlwind of organisation, I had my flights and holidays booked and seven long weeks to pass before our journey began ......
I would highly recommend Portugal as holiday destination, there is so much to see and do, especially if you love history and old things!
I would also suggest to visit off peak, milling crowds, heat and overcrowded attractions would take away the charm of this beautiful and fascinating country. During the three weeks we were there, we never once had to line up, the attractions were not at all crowded (we had them to ourselves alot of the time), accomodation was very easy to find and the rates much cheaper too!
