World Cup in Europe, 1998

In and around Europe

1998- the year of the World Cup. It was held in Paris. Iwas never a soccer fan until I visited Western Europe! I became an Arsenal football club fan.

I booked an Insight tour from Singapore. It was a 2-in-1 tour. 12 days in Western Furope and another 4 days in Great Britain. I was the only male tourist in a group of female aunties! Take goodness, when I embarked on the tour from Great Britain, at least there was someone in my age group, a Taiwanese Master graduate student studying in London joining the Great Briatin tour.

Some people tell me the French people are arrogant. But when I visited Paris, I found them the most friendly people. The police were especially helpful, even using their patrol car to ferry some of the tour members to the correct train station!
