Sweden, Summer Experience

In and around Norrkoping, Sweden

I spent part of my summer working on an archaeological excavation in Ostergotland, Sweden. The aim of the dig was to determine the date, amount of preservation, and type of grave-goods found in a Viking boat-grave cemetary found in the Skamby parish. Several boat-grave cemetarys have been found in Ostergotland, but none of them had been excavated until now.

Hi there, I am a student at the Institute of Archaeology at the University College London. One of my courses this year requires me to interview some archaeologists about their experiences on site with conservators and the art of conservation. After reading a few of your blogs here, it seems to me like you're quite experienced in the field so I was wondering if you would be interested in answering a few questions for me? If so, can you email me back at m.isgate@ucl.ac.uk and i shall send you the questionnaire I have constructed. Look forward to hearing from you. Michael Isgate
