El Salvador Surf Lodge

In and around Playa Costa del Sol, El Salvador

Casa Bella Vista Surf Lodge:  This privately owned beach hideaway is located in the region of Playa Costa del Sol, in the town of San Marcelino.  This is one of the most exclusive and private stretches of beach in the whole country.   San Marcelino is a small fishing village that has long been the vacation destination for San Salvador locals.  Many of the countries officials and influential people have beach homes in this town.  This house was recently purchased and remodeled to American amenity standards, and sits proudly among other well kept, tropical beach homes.  If you are looking for a place to relax to the sound of the Pacific ocean crashing against the beach, with amazing sunset views, then you have to check this place out.

The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 downstairs and a master suite upstairs with a private balcony.  There are a total of 9 beds.  4 full size, 4 twin bunks, and 1 queen in the master.  The master suite has a private bath with a hot water shower.  The downstairs rooms share the other bathroom, also with a hot water shower.  There is an extra bathroom next to the pool, with no hot water.

The kitchen is fully equiped with an oven, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, and clothing washer.  All appliances are new and work great.  There are also plenty of utensils and plates, if you intend to eat meals in.  There is also a built-in gas barbecue grill.  There is a fresh fish market, and a grocery store close by to cover all of your food needs.

You can enjoy the brand new pool, or the private beach at the house.  For a relaxing, peacefull trip you will never have to leave the house.  But, if you are more adventurous there are tons of activities to keep you busy.  The main reason I went there originally was for the world class surfing.  If you are a surfer who likes adventure, you have to check out El Salvo.  There are about 17 different surf spots, all within 30 to 45 minutes of each other.  There is always beach break at the house for sunset surf sessions, but the country is littered with right hand point breaks.  You can get hooked up with a local guide very cheaply, and they will take you everywhere you want to go.  They will pick you up at the house in the morning, with gatorade and water, take you to the surf spots, take you to lunch, back to surf, then back home again.  If you're not totally worn out, they will take you to San Salvador, 45 minutes away for some nite life.  They've got it all......
