Day 4 and 5

Hello from Hvar Island (pronounced hw-ar), the supposed sunniest destination in Croatia! And we definitely got a lot of sun today! First, how we got here...

We took a 6 hour ferry from Dubrovnik, and met some fellow ENGLISH-SPEAKING (woohoo) travellers en route. Being the packhorses that we are, we didnt have room in our sacks to bring books, or other things that pass time. So we were bored to say the least. Hey, at least we were bored IN CROATIA!

When we arrive in Hvar, it gave us a better impression than when we first arrived in Dubrovnik. It was probablz more what we were expecting of Croatia - sunny, beachy style lifestyle. Still have unfriendly people but at least there is no stink of garbage and the constrained feeling of being surrounded by a huge fortress!

Today we went to Palmizana (sp?), an island off of Hvar. We were lured there by the promise of sandy beaches! We think.. that the Croatian definition of sandy beach is different from ours! It was mostlz rock slabs, pebbles, and maybe a 10x10 section of sand. Well, most of that sand was under the water. Ho hum! Monicas foot prevented her from dipping into the Adriatic but she beared the boredom well. Lisa tried to have fun on her own. SHe did aqua-cardio in the sea! What fun! Anyhoots, we were stranded there for 6 hours. At least we got a tan!

Tomorrow we head to Split to check out Diocletians Palace and maybe another beach if the lies are good enough. Until then, we going to do one more hike in Hvar, enjoy the nightlife antics, and sip a Mojita (or something of the sort). SUpposeflz the nightlife is the best in Hvar.. TOo bad we fell asleep at 1030 last night!

Oh well, internet is expensive and we,re cheapos. Until later!!!

PS Have decided that one should not bring their signicant other to Croatia for a holiday unless (1) you know he or she loves you and/or (2) youre hot! Too many Sport Illustrated/Vogue moments here. HAHAHAH
