London City Airport, Amsterdam, Moscow and, erm, Heathrow
In and around Europe

Back in the beginning of February 2006 I suddenly decided I'd like to go to Moscow. Don't arks why.
So, after a bit of wrangling with the dates and work, I booked a flight from London City to Moscow Sheremet'yevo via Amsterdam Schipol on KLM (LCY cos it's only a 15 minute walk from home). I really really wanted to go to Moscow while it was still cold enough to appreciate a little bit of the Russian winter) and then set about arranging the visa.
Getting the visa is harder than it sounds and there's all sorts of paperwork which needs to be prepared as well as the visa application form. I put it in the hands of an agency and it was touch and go whether it would get to me on time (involved visiting a dodgy bloke off the Essex Road N1 and handing over large sums of money). However, 'Svetlana' at the agency came through for me and I raced back up to Islington to pick it up in the nick of time.

To Moscow with love...

Everything is just how y... Continue reading »

I don't want to be here
Well, not only did KLM send me to LHR rather than back to London City (where I live, and wher I wanted to go), they managed to smash my suitcase to... Continue reading »
