On the Road Again - Cairo to Cape Town by Bike
In and around Poole, United Kingdom
About the Tour:- First conceived in Toronto in 2003, it has been run annually, as a cycling event that will appeal to both keen amateurs and professionals, as both a race and an expedition. A series of over 80 timed stages, through 10 countries, covering a distance of nearly 12,000 km - 7,500 miles, will transport the riders from one end of the continent to the other, using only the power of their legs and the grim determination of their minds. As well as bringing together riders from all around the World for their own personal aims, the Tour actively seeks to promote the use and advantages of cycle power as a means of transport through its Tour d’Afrique Foundation. This year the event has attracted a record number of entrants, with 56 full tour and 38 sectional riders from all over the world preparing to test their limits
