Turning 30 is ok, if you're in Venice!

Tim surprised me with a trip to Venice for my 30th.  I had dreamed about being in Venice for my 30th for some years, inspired by Lauryn, who went there for one of her birthdays.   Then once we had actually moved over here, it all seemed highly likely.

But Tim had an exam in London on the day of my birthday, so it put the trip out of the question.

Then on Wednesday night I was presented with tickets for a 4 day trip to the wonderful Island (yes, it's an island for those who didn't know!).

Several months back he had actually been able to change the date of the exam, and of course probably loved keeping me in the dark, although had to do some rather covert stuff to keep me from planning anything else, as I'm in the habit of doing!
