Hi Beth, Your 3rd attempt to get me your last travel entry was a success! I'm glad you persisted because I loved the parts about the cooking lessons, and the elephants!! Someday, in some capacity, I'd love to work with caring for animals. They are just the best. My father had a fifty-some-year-old Jim Thompson printed shirt. It had been in the back of his drawer for years and years, and then he spotted it, and started to wear it again. It was almost like new. I think Jim might have been gay, and it was found out, and someone may have murdered him (in Thailand). Anyway, I have heard of Jim Thompson..... Someone gave me a book to read this Christmas. It was a true story about a man who had grown up caring for this one elephant (who had the same birthday as this man). The two spent most of their lives together, except for a span of years when the elephant was sold, and then abused (in the United States) for years. In the end, they find one another again. I can't remember the name of the book, but it made one appreciate elephants. They are wonderfully loyal animals. Look forward to your return. Will you be able to settle back to life on the Rock again?? You've had quite an adventure, Beth! I loved hearing about the people you met in your cooking class - from all over the world. And the couple who up and left England, and their life there - to travel for a while. What a wonderful way to live one's life! Be well, and I look forward to seeing you on the Vineyard again. You'll have many stories to tell your new class next year. Thanks for sharing all of your journal entries. love, Jill
