Road Trip to Eureka
In and around United States
Eureka is a small town on the north coast of California - 300 miles north of San Francisco and 110 miles south of Oregon border. We chose Eureka for this long weekend trip primarily because we never explored the Pacific coast beyond Golden Gate bridge.
As always, we did a good deal of research about the must see places around Eureka before finalizing the trip. Googling for 'Eureka tourism' returned many useful links, out of which I found Redwoodvisitor.Org to be very informative. I also flipped through a couple of North California tour guides at the local Borders. We reserved a hotel room in Eureka well in advance.
The night before the trip, everything was ready, except for a trip plan!
'Nothing to panic', I said to myself. This is not new after all. So I sat down for an hour and laid down the tour plan. It's going to be a road trip, so a very detailed plan isn't necessary - we don't stick too much to it any way. Let's see how it goes this time.
