Living my childhood dream
In and around United States
As long as i can remeber I wanted to explore the United States on a road trip and when my au-pair year in Canada was nearly over, I started to plan the trip. Unfortunately I only had two weeks time, so I decided to make a short trip along the east cost to visit the cities New York (of course!), Boston, Washington D.C., Wilmington, Charleston and Orlando.
I really enjoyed the time riding the bus, seeing different cities and meeting new people. It was the first long trip i took on my one and although I had my lonely days it was my childhood dream coming alive.
I can´t really say what city I liked the most, they all are so different and unique and every city has it´s own temper.
New York is amazing and with it´s Chinatown, Little Italy and Greenwhich village in every street you feel like in another country. I loved the old and beautiful Boston with it´s harbour and Harvard and I could imagine myself living there someday.
Washington is a very military city, all planed out but what i liked about it was that there is still a lot of green. I went to Wilmongton to visit the film studio and get a little peek behing TV shows like "Dawson´s creek" and " One tree hill". And Charleston was a must too. It has a lot of this southern feeling flying trough the streets and I enjoyed this life style a lot.
Orlando was just a stop on my trip because I had to take the plane back to Toronto from there. But it was also a interesting experience spending a day in Disney´s world, even I didn´t go in the amusement park.
