Borneo Panorama
In and around Malaysia
Borneo, Sarawak and Sabah - trekking in these tropical destinations is not for the faint hearted. I left Jennie at home for this trip! It was indeed the most difficult trip I have undertaken - much harder than trekking through the high mountains of Bhutan, or across Tibet, or Mongolia! Here in Malaysia I rode in dugouts along jungle rivers and stayed in an Iban longhouse, checked out Orang Utans and proboscis monkeys, climbed Mt Kinabalu and the Pinnacles, found some delightful tropical wildflowers - and got myself hot, sweaty, tired and sore. But, for an old bloke, I did pretty well.
