Scandinavian Autumn
In and around Europe

The call of matrimonializing friends comes though again to help me choose my next holiday destination: Wedding. Denmark. October.
Would have to squeeze everything into 2 weeks, but that would give me time to catch up with some old friends, chill out in Denmark and maybe take in a fjord or two in (relatively) nearby Norway.
A good plan. Simple enough. So how did I end up
In Copenhagen:

- getting laughed at whenever I asked for a sandwich?
- accepting a shot of homemade aquavit on condition the waiter would send me home in a cab.
- getting yelled at by guards at Amelienborg Palace?
- learning "not nice Danish" sayings to use while downing Gamle Dansk?
- being caught by paparazzi at an after hours club in Copenhagen?
- stabbing furtively at an arras in Helsingor castle?
- combining flamenco, bagpipes, Viking chants, a white megaphone and Giaoca Jouer into one, perfectly logical evening
Aurlandsfjord, Norway

Or in Norway:
- switching rooms in the middle of the night in a hotel in Flam?
- taking the helm of a very large boat at the narrowest point of the narrowest fjord in the world?
- making an ethically dubious culinary decision in Bergen?
- crawling, by myself, on a 604m cliff edge on a windy day?
- getting a guy kicked out of a restaurant in Stavanger
- getting my face painted with a Norwegian Flag, watching belly dancing and singing traditional German songs in celebration of a Dutch holiday?
