In and around Egypt

Egypt Blog 1-14-07

Hey folks, thanks for stopping by again.  The Egypt blog is going to be cut in sections.  I start in Cairo for a couple of days, head down to Aswan, Luxor and other parts of the Nile Valley.  Then I come back to Cairo for my flight to Kenya.  After a couple of weeks in Kenya and Safari I fly back to Cairo, train up to Alexandria, bus down to the Red Sea and Sinai, and then head back to Cairo once again for one last peek at the Pyramids and my flight to Barcelona.  I’ll probably list separate ‘Journal Entries’ for each area I visit under this one Egypt Journal.  The site seems to like that better.  Oh, and sorry about the problems with posting pictures on the site.  It worked fine at home.  I haven’t had time to clean them up in Photoshop yet either.

Thanks much,

Bill

Thanks to all and a few quick replies. Just had my first Egyptian beer from duty free. Horrible but it's heaven after 10 days without. No fries. The camera is a Canon Rebel SLR. It does all the work. The pyramids look big up close, very big. Not sure what naked guy KK is talking about but their all over the place in Egyptian art so it's a bit unavoidable. And I'm glad Regina thought the Philae picture was funny because I took the pic just for her. Love and thanks - Bill PS - I'm not used to compliments from you guys so tone it down some before I take a heart attack. Last I heard this was the worst world tour ever.

8pixels on the Reble but most of the time I keep it on medium size so they are around 3 or 4 and then reduced when I clean them up. The key is the Tamron super zoom 27 -300 lens. Made it to Nairobit safe and sound. I wouldn't stroll the streets at night with all my cash but it doesn't seem half as bad as people made it out to be. That being said I'm heading to Tanzania first thing tomorrow. Cya.

Dude, I just caught up. Spain was cool but Egypt is amazing. I am speechless - quite the accomplishment! Its too much to take in at once - I need to keep up !!! Just think, with in a few days a kid from Brooklyn is gonna see the Pyramids & then be face to face with Lions, Zebras & Elephants - Unreal .... Keep up the good work !! PS: I can not believe you are taking these pictures. I thought the pics from Madrid were postcards. What kind of camera do you have with you ???
