And the Story Begins....
In and around Budapest, Hungary
We arrived at Tampa airport with quite a few hours to spare. I decided not to bring Sophies stroller, well that might have been a mistake. {Thanks Dad} We made it through security without any problems. Perhaps it was Sophies charm that did it, she made plenty of new friends along the way. We went to our gate without about 3 hours or so to spare. Stopped at the potty on the way there, and than 10 minutes later guess who had to go potty again...? Well pack it all up and off we trot to the potty, and than back again. She was good to go after that.
The flight was quite uneventful, luckily the seat between us was empty, Sophie made herself quite comfortable and slept most of the way here. The food was not the best, but we managed to survive somehow. Arrived in London about 30 minutes early. It took about 1 hour to get through passport control, and walked right through customs with out a problem. I changed 250 US dollars and got a whopping 110 GBP in exchange in London. Well we will only be there for one full day, and everything is paid so we should be ok. I did stash a few bucks for our time there. (I tend to spend it, if it is in sight)
We arrived at Heathrow with about 4or 5 hours to spare. We where in Terminal 5, the new one. There where no problems like I had been reading on the web. All went smoothly. We where a little early, and unable to check in for about 1 hour. We decided to do a quick cleanup, teeth hands face...etc.. Checked in, did not even have to wait in line, all went well. I decided that our carryon was was way to heavy and would limit us once we checked it, so I check it,(It arrived with us, imagine that)
We found a playground for Sophie to play on and met some new friends from Australia who just happened to be on our flight to BUD. The playground was great, not a lot to play with, but the mat was so soft, it was nice to lay down and stretch out. If it was a bit quieter, I could take a nap.
We boarded our flight to BUD on time, arrived on time, our dear friends Szepy and Gyuszi met us and took us to our humble abode. It was quite an uneventful thank goodness. We unpacked and showered and relaxed and stretched our legs.
Monday Illi and I went to the local market looked around and decided that the prices where better at the local grocery. I did buy a monthly transit pass, it cost 8250 HUF. (I changed 200US and got only 30000HUF) So I spent about 60or 70 for the pass. We went to the grocery and spent about another 60 or 70 dollars. Cannot tell you exactly what we bought, but it was not very much. Did a few errands with mom in the city, we found a playground for Sophie to play on and let off some steam. We walked in the city for a while and than and home to rest. In bed by 10pm.
Tuesday.. it is now 1:00 pm here that would make it about 7:00am back in the states. We headed off to my mother in law for some quality time. She welcomed us with some champagne and is cooking a wonderful smelling lunch. I guess the champagne is starting to go to my head. Cannot wait, I am starving.
We have not done to much of the city, but it has only been 2 days, seems longer.. imagine that. Well I will try to fill everyone in on things in a few days.. hope that all is well with everyone....suzi
