09th- Took the metro to the train station. The girl sold us tickets for a train leaving in three minutes and we made it to the platform in time to watch it leave. Waited a few hours for the next one, then went to Avignon. We find a hotel for 32 so we take it. Go out and get groceries and the everything is closed, must be 7, watch music videos, only English thing available, then go to bed.

10th- Go to the old Popes Palace and look around. Huge place, but most of the rooms are bare. Then we go to the Point d'Avignon and it is soooo windy again, and cold. Walked all around the city, it is a fortified city but much bigger, so there is tons to see. Grocery store and then the hotel room. Cooked the tortellini in a can in the bathroom sink, woked well.

11th- Today we left the fortified city and went to the other bank. Climbed to the top of the tower, then went to the monastery and then climbed up to the fort. All were really cool. The streets of Avignon were packed when we returned and we explored the town further. Really cool street with a canal and four water wheels. Then off to bed.

12th- Gathered our stuff and went to the train station, to get to Saint Jean Pied de Port we have to go to Paris then double back to Bayonne and the another train to St. Jean. The Paris train doesn't leave till 8 so we spend all day waiting at the station. Then we get to Paris only to learn that our train, which leaves in 15 minutes (because our train was 15 late) leaves from a different station. A woman tells us we have to take a cab, so we wait and wait in line, then the driver yells at us in French, basically says to walk, the fare is not worht his time and calls up another lady. So we start walking to somewhere, ask directions and go, I want to kill every cab driver in France. We get to the station but obviously we are late and the train has left, not another till tomorrow morning and so we have to pay 17 euros to change our tickets and then take a bus to yet another station. There they fortunately have a waiting room where we spend a long miserable night before our train comes. Get on the train, they seated us on two ends of the car and then in Bayonne get on the train to Saint Jean.
