So, finally getting round to posting another update, been a little slack since entering NZ so I am sure you are all very pleased about that ;-) but thanks to all of you that have e-mailed me, it's great to hear from you all and I am finally up to date with replies (well almost, got one to reply to)

Arrived in NZ after a flight in which for 85-90% of the flying time we were experiencing "turbulence" and had the seatbelt sign on, for me, well I slept on and off (night flights are good for that) waking every few hours.

Generally it was the times when there was a big shift in the plane that woke me, the feeling you used tp get when you persuaded your mum to take that big dip in the road at speed - I used to call it losing your stomach..

But the poor lady across the aisle from me, she wasn't exactly a good travellor and was breathing heavily into the nice little bags that the airlines provide, she was courteously turning away from her fellow passengers, which put her facing my direction..... luckily she was ok, if a little green when she left the flight.

Anyway, after leaving the mellow weather of the west coast of the US, I arrived in NZ to a Great British welcome.. rain, and not just rain, but high winds as well (a mini typhoon hit), so its 5:40 am and raining - made me feel at home at least!

The rain continued for almost 24 hours, so it gave me plenty of chance to get used to the idea of wet weather again (I think I was very lucky in the US for weather) and also the idea of paddling (I had a room at the top in the hostel I stayed in, shame the roof was damaged in the typhoon making my room into a paddling pool at one side lol).

I think by the time I got to Auckland I was done with cities, they are all very nice, but not me, or so I thought, until I walked past a fresh bakery/cafe that was selling freshly madeĀ Gluten free muffins - yummy, can you guess what my breakfast was the next day!

I am due to go back to Auckland when I pass through to get further North and then again when I finally leave (starting to try and get the flight ticket extended), so I am sure I can get the feel for Auckland and do the sights (think I took 3 pics when I was there before)..

Ahh well that's Auckland done for now
