Time to hit the road

Well, after six awesome months, it's time to leave our jobs, say goodbye to all the great new friends we have made, and leave Tauranga.  We've both got quite attached to this place so are sad to be off, but at the same time are very excited about the adventure that lies ahead.

First stop Auckland, to hang out with Robs friends Peter and Miriam.  Whilst here we have purchased our transport (and accommodation) for the next few weeks, a 1987 Toyota Corona, whom we have named Derek.  We got Derek for $400, with good reason, although I can't go into details as I don't know whether the New Zealand authorities are reading this!  Seems like a good buy, is nice and comfortable, and big enough to hold all the junk we have somehow.

Next stop, the Bay of Islands...
