22.28 – Well today has been a really great. I had to wake up at 09.00 to try and get a ticket for the tour and to get ready in time for it. Unfortunately though, when I went to the desk they had no tickets left but the lady said to just turn up anyway. I did just that although I almost missed the bus because I was busy buying sweets from the shop! We first went to the harbour bridge where I was expecting to walk over it but it turn out you had to pay. I think I will wait until I get to Sydney and do that one instead. The views here were pretty good but we moved on swiftly. After driving past The Viaduct, The America’s Cup Village and right along the coast past Kelly Tarlton’s, we finally got to Point Bastion. It was quite a historic place but not very interesting. The weather was turning out ok after a dull morning. We then went to Mount Eden which was very similar to One Tree Hill except there was a caldera at this one. I found out that the tree on One Tree Hill was cut down by a Maori activist! After this we went swiftly to the pub where I had a couple of pints along with fish and chips. I didn’t realise how much money I have spent from this week’s allowance already. I will have to cut back. I have $100 to last me a week. When we got back to ABC, I decided to book my travel from for NZ with Stray instead of the Kiwi Experience. The tour today was organised by them and won me over. The tour guides really impressed me. So I booked that as well as loads of other activities. A very expensive day in all (the tour at least was free). I have spent the evening reading About A Boy in Borders and planning my schedule for travel with Stray.
