Day 20 - Auckland Zoo

16.20 – Another good day today. After waking up I just hung around the hostel until dinner time again. I got my CV that Ryan sent to me so I will be able to hand that in to the restaurants I tried yesterday. I planned a lot of my future trip around NZ based on a tour bus I am likely to take with the Kiwi Experience. It was hard work, especially since I do not exactly where the good places and sights are. I only managed to do the North Island as well. After a tuna sandwich for dinner I caught the bus to Auckland zoo. It proved to be a great day out with lots of rare and varied species of animal on display. It took a long time to get around it all and I was tired by the time I got back to the hostel. The weather has been good again which made the day even better. I really want to meet some people and make friends though. Everyone here is older and less friendly than the hostel in Hawaii.

19.06 – Every time I write in here about not having any friends, I always seem to make some! I went down to read in the YHA lobby and I got invited to play Scrabble by a guy called Colt. He was really cool and it turns out that he had been adopted into a tribe whilst travelling in Papua New Guinea! He had a friend with him called Anna who was really nice (in both senses of the word!) but she is leaving tomorrow. We all got on really well as well. Every time I make some friends they are always about to move on!
