Packed up today ready for the flight home tonight. Conor tried to fly out last night but got snowed in so I’m a bit worried about getting away. I’ve had an amazing time but really need to get back to my boys now.
Went out to lunch with Sylvia, Conor, Simon Fitzmaurice (The Sound of People) and Matt Morris (Pickin’ & Trimmin’). We had a very good time - we all shared a sense of humour and talked nonsense for some time.
The awards ceremony was in the afternoon, and marked the end of the festival. Conor won a special mention award but the rest of us came away empty handed. I didn’t expect to win but it was still gutting, however we drowned our sorrows in champagne toasting the winners and then went to the pub.
Sylvia gave Conor and I a lift to the airport and we flew out of Aspen just avoiding the next heavy snowfall which was just starting to come down (lucky we did because Matt e-mailed me that all flights were cancelled for the next two days solid - !).
So there it is, my Aspen adventure.
