So after a very comfortable night bus with Cial with a great movie (though the stewardess pissed everyone off for a while when she put the movie in French and the subtitles in German) we arrived in Arequipa.  Now why is it that all day buses that you want to get somewhere fast are late and all night buses that you want to arrive late so you get some extra sleep always arrive early, we have no idea, but it is a rule here.  Just be thankful the bus doesn´t fall off the mountain while you are sleeping....

We setup our bus out to Cuzco for that night, since we were meeting Jason and Jenn the next morning and started looking for a day activity.  Unforunately the one day Colca Canyon tour began at 2 AM, so we were 4 hours too late.  We walked around the city, dodging taxi cabs, and looking for different tours such as moutain biking on volcanoes, but in the end decided to do some museum hopping.  We checked out the nunnery/convent museum which was houses both nuns and live HUGE guinea pigs, only not for pets if you know what we´re saying. Gilad found that pretty boring, so after some coffee in the most touristy restaurant ever, we went to the mummy museum.  This was really interesting and enjoyable and even had a special nap time part that Gilad took full advantage of while the rest of the people watched an informative movie.  We took the tour and got to see a bunch of artifacts plus the intact body of a 12 year old girl that was sacrificed by the Incas.  And guess how they killed her! You would think maybe with poison, or even a knife, but no...they basically got her drunk until she fell asleep and then wacked her on the right side of the head with a stick, allowing her to die from a hemmorage or however you really spell that word.  Crazy mofos.....

Here´s a few tips for people doing a 12 hour trip in Arequipa.....first, if you ask someone what coca tea feels like and they start off there answer, ¨well thats easy, have you ever done cocaine?¨ unless you´ve done cocaine you probably aren´t going to understand the answer and second, do NOT eat at a restaurant called Govinda, unless you like moldy bread, cold food, to be kicked out of a restaurant, and having the bill be wrong and third, there are two bus stations righ next to each other in Arequipa, so if you are starting to feel like you are in the twilight zone after returning to a different bus station...just cross the street.
