Wow. We finally made it to Samoa after another really long sail. This one was tough - I have been REALLY homesick. Sometimes I think that I actually want to go home early. We crossed the equator and officially became shellbacks instead of polywogs in an ancient sailing ritual, but I can't reveal details to all of the polywogs who will read this. It is a big fat secret. That was our last long sail - from now on it is island-hopping in the South Pacific!! I so glad that I'll be able to call home almost once a week. I can't wait to be cold again - it was almost 40 degrees today. Samoa is a pretty cool place - very tropical. We are going to do some neat cultural stuff, like have a traditional Samoan lunch on the beach. I am very excited for our port progams: a hike to Lake Lanoto'o and a day at the beach. We leave Wednesday, so I'm going to try and write an exciting journal entry on Tuesday, which is our next full day of free time. For now, I just feel lucky that I've made it this far.
