We arrived to Heraklion airport late that night, so we hopped in a taxi and made our way to our hotel. It was about a 15-20 min drive and cost 30 euros. There is a big map right by the taxi area that displays the prices for all the different areas of Crete as most of the taxis do not have meters.
The roads were very windy and the drivers are very aggressive. Unless you are going well over the speed limit you need to drive on the shoulder of the road. Im not sure what the road laws are, but everyone who was going the speed limit was driving on the side of the road.
It was very warm when we arrived, maybe around 20degrees, which was a nice change from rainy Glasgow.
We checked into our wondeful room with a beautiful view of the sea, and we went to bed.
