Went to visit Bryn and Marls down in Adelaide, had a barbecue for almost every meal - excellent. I've never eaten a barbie breaky before, but I'll be doing it again soon. Dale cooked us one down at his place, Bryn cooked two, couldn't ask for much more!
We were taken all over the place in Adelaide and the surrounding Fleurieu Peninsula thanks to our generous hosts and their family and friends. We went sea fishing for salmon in the morning at Second Valley (Port Noarlunga, our first stop, didn't look good). Unfortunately Nathan's fishing curse prevented anyone from catching anything. Ask him about the time he accidentally cast someone's brand new rod straight into the water before he'd even used it! Anyway, so we decided to move on to Wirrina Cove to go squiding. Got the casting right after nearly snapping the line a few times. Got the lure moving nicely through the seaweed. Didn't catch a bloody thing again! But... we were going to call it a day when Dale caught a little ________, then a few more came out and Nathan and I decided to try our hand at a bit of tiddler fishing. In the end we both caught our first ever fish and his curse was lifted. The ____ that I caught was massive of course and his _____ was pretty small. I'm not bragging though.
On our last night we went wine and oyster tasting at the Sea and Vines festival in the McLaren Vale, woooh was I drunk? Spilt red wine everywhere (or was that the night before?), managed to talk absolute crap to some of Bryn's friends at their own house, and finally passed out in the car on the way home. As usual I can only remember a tiny portion of the events, but hey, as far as I know it was a good un!
