Nestled among Xiamen University's postcard setting of mountains and beaches and red brick buildings, this museum rebuffs the school's resort appearance with 30 display rooms of Neolithic Chinese relics. Paintings, fossils, and ceramics are just a few of the many items. The museum also gives nod to Xiamen's ethnology following its progression from prehistoric times to the present. This is one of the few Xiamen attractions that, thankfully, does not require wading through a gauntlet of vendors to reach.
