An oasis in the heart of bustling New York City, Central Park was opened in the winter of 1859 as a place for all New Yorkers to seek recreation. Today, locals and tourists alike head to the park for more than just a breath of fresh air. Attractions in the park include the Central Park Zoo and Wildlife Center, Children's Zoo, concerts, running paths, gardens, museums, a popular carousel, famous restaurants, and more. The park is located on 843 acres of land between Fifth and Eighth Avenue and 59th and 110th street.
