Enthralling crowds for over 40 years now, the annual Porijazz Festival is the meeting ground for jazz enthusiasts. Spread over various venues, it draws crowds from around the world for a week-long celebration. Internationally-renowned jazz artists rub shoulders with the local talent, and the festival frenzy is obvious around this time. The recently concluded festival (July 2005), had over 700 performers and entertained over 115,000 people.
