Opened in 1993, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum chronicles one of the worst events in human history. The museum covers major events from the 20th century, including Hitler’s rise to power, the buildup to World War II, the resistance and liberation movements and the post-war years in Israel. The collection includes works of art, photographs, documents, recordings and more, all connected in ways to both American culture and the reflections of contemporary thinkers.
