More information on Asian Art Museum

This 1924 former plantation manager's home, lovingly restored by innkeepers Janice and Thomas Fairbanks, offers a genuine old Hawaii experience. The theme is Hawaii of the 1920s and 1930s, with decor, design, and landscaping to match. The spacious rooms are gorgeously outfitted with exotic ohia-wood floors, high ceilings, and traditional Hawaiian quilts. The mammoth bathrooms (some with claw-foot tubs, others with Jacuzzis) have plush towels and earth-friendly toiletries on hand. Recently, the Fairbanks added an additional building, the Vagabond House, a modern three-room complex in the inn's lavishly landscaped backyard. The rooms are decorated in island-designer Sig Zane's floral prints, with rare framed prints of indigenous Hawaiian flowers plus all the modern amenities you can imagine (including an ultraluxurious multihead shower). A full gourmet breakfast is served on the enclosed back lanai. You'll feel right at home lounging on the generous-size living-room sofa or watching the world go by from an old wicker chair on the lanai. The inn is located in the old historic area of Wailuku, just a few minutes' walk from the Maui County Seat Government Building, the courthouse, and a wonderful stretch of antiques shops. Facilities: Jacuzzi; laundry service; dry cleaning Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
