Also known as "The Village," this neighborhood was primarily home to writers, painters, musicians, actors and other artists, giving it the reputation as a bohemian community. Today, students from neighborhood universities, tourists and locals continue to head to Bleeker Street in the Village for its nightlife, history and charm.
