More information on Angler's Rest (The)
About a fifteen minute drive to the west of the city lies a Cork institution. The Angler's Rest is a beautiful pub, situated right on the Lee River, offering lunches, a view, a beer-garden, and a lovely afternoon or evening. People have been known to drive, cycle, or jog the distance, just to enjoy the scenery, serenity, and sometimes even the sun. The lunches are outstanding. There is usually a choice of four main meals and a selection of sandwiches as well. Live music is played some nights, especially over the summer, and a friendly welcome is on offer every night. All sorts of people take a rest here - even the odd angler drops by for good measure.
