More information on Overseas Chinese Museum
This odd museum celebrates the accomplishments of former residents who earned lavish success living outside of the Fujian province. It was opened in 1959 by businessman Tan Kah Kee who appropriately made his fortune while working in Singapore. More than 6,000 items grace the museum, which is divided into six sections. All of the displays have been donated by the former residents and include photography, paintings, pottery that dates back to 1100 BC, and documentation of the former residents success stories.
