Real Traveler reviews for Liberty Bell

More information on Liberty Bell

Originally ordered in 1751 to commemorate the original constitution of Pennsylvania, the Liberty Bell gained nationwide attention in 1776 when it was rung to summon citizens to the first public reading of the US Declaration of Independence. The bell has become an important symbol of freedom over the centuries, adopted by abolitionists during the civil war and advocates of women’s suffrage in the early 20th century. Today, the bell is located in Liberty Bell Center, a large glass building with video presentations and exhibits which outline the bell’s historical significance.
