More information on Woodland Park Zoo
Originally made public in 1899, the Woodland Park Zoo is still considered by many to be one of the best zoos in the United States. The zoo covers 65 acres inside of Seattle's Woodland Park, and includes a butterfly garden, elephant rainforest trails and aviary. Many of the 1,200 animals are uncaged, and instead roam around in natural-looking habitats. Children can also enjoy the "zoomazium," a nature-themed playground especially for kids!
