More information on Thai Rare Stone & Ashtray Museum
This building houses Mr.Bunyong Lertnimtr's fabulous collection of Thai rare stones and ashtrays from all over the world. He also has a collection of Chinese paintings and matchbox labels. Bunyong's stone collection numbers about 100,000 but only 2,000 are on display at any one time. His ashtrays number 3,000. Bunyong, 65, is Vice-President of the International Rare Stone Association and figures his collection must be worth about THB10 million. He classifies the stones into three major categories: river, mountain and cave stones. Call for more details.
