Limerick's major horse racing track is situated in Greenpark. Limerick Racecourse is a state of the art venue providing ample car parking along with catering and bar facilities for race days and other events such as exhibitions. The highlight of the social calendar year at the track is the Christmas Festival, which consists of 4 days of national hunt racing. People come from near and far for this event, and if it is too cold to view from the stands one can always watch the races unfold on the television in the nearest pub. Throughout the year there are many National Hunt meetings; all meetings are advertised in local media and newspapers. Check their website for further information regarding race times and events.
