Plan B is the former Hennepin Avenue location of the Urban Bean. Under the new owner, the hardwood floors have been redone and the outdoor patio reopened. The work of local artists still adorns the walls but new furniture has been added. Poetry and book readings are staged during the day but not on a set schedule. Songwriters occasionally practice their craft to an appreciative audience. Fresh pastry and a variety of caffeine-packed beverages await the early morning crowd. Try a latte, espresso, cappuccino or a strong cup of Joe with your cinnamon roll. Hot or iced tea, a soft drink or juice goes well with a soup and sandwich for lunch.
