Description

Market Square has been the centerpiece of downtown Houston for over 150 years. The square was donated to the city in 1854 by the Allen brothers, originally for use as an open-air market. Home to 19th century architecture and multiple entertainment venues, restaurants and nightclubs, the district has become a popular place for locals and visitors alike. The square features old and new designs, including artwork by local artists on walls and streets, as well as a famous tower clock which returned to use in 1996.
