This extremely large pub is located very close to the city centre and is consequently often busy. If you have been to a Firkin pub before, you'll know what to expect: Firkin jokes and colourful noticeboards litter the place, and the food is very good value. However, although the pub isn't one of the most individual pubs in Sheffield, it does stand out for being one of the largest: even at busy times, you are likely to find a seat here. The range of home-brewed beers are interesting, although they aren't to everyone's taste. A large beer garden is popular during the summer. The pub is mainly used by students during term time, but tends to be quieter in holiday periods, when twenty- and thirty-something locals come here more often. Bear in mind that background music is almost always loud: this isn't the place to come for a quiet evening drink.
