Set in and amidst the bustle of the university area there are no prizes for guessing who this, recently renovated, bar attracts. The "Egg" is also popular at weekends with local school sixth formers. This is not to say that this is a place one should avoid - rather it is a vibrant and happening bar, as good for a daytime drink as for a late night super-pub experience. Drink, drink and be merry is the order of the day (nothing wrong with that!). During the day the food served is cheap and filling to suit the predominantly student clientele.
