More information on Centre Islamique de Genève
This small whitewashed house with green shutters is the home of the first Islamic center in Europe, founded by the Egyptian Said Ramadan in 1965. The largest room downstairs has been converted into a mosque; opposite is a classroom for Arabic and Islamic education lessons and for conferences. Given on a Saturday evening, the conferences cover an interesting range of subjects and are open to the general public. Books on Islam are also on sale.
