This elegant residence, which was once the home of an influential family, now houses a cultural centre, the Instituto Moreira Salles, dedicated mainly to exhibitions of well-known masters of the art of photography. There is a permanent exhibition, the Gilberto Ferrez collection with the works of Marc Ferrez, among others. Besides the beautifully landscaped gardens, created by Burle Marx, and a charming café, the centre has an auditorium and a library. Facilities and services are top-notch.
