Frankfurt's 'national holiday' - a festival of music, dance, food and drink - attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the Stadtwald forest every year. There are food stalls and plenty of entertainment is on offer. The five-day festival takes place over the Whitsun holiday, although the highpoint is on 'Wäldchestag' itself (the first Tuesday after Whistun), when most Frankfurt offices shut at midday and everyone makes the pilgrimage out to the city forest.
